Meet Kelsy

Registered Dietitian & Pilates Instructor

Hi! I am long time food lover and am all too familiar with annoying gut symptoms. Bloating, extreme pain, chronic constipation, brain fog, lack of motivation – and fatigue – you name it, I've felt it.

 

My symptoms interfered with my daily activities, relationships, and I even stopped loving and eating pizza – I know tragic. I went to multiple doctors and completed multiple tests all to find out everything was "normal." I even had one doctor say it was all in my head.

I was eventually diagnosed with “idiopathic” IBS and handed a medication for constipation. It was during grad school when I finally received validation for my symptoms, and learned I didn't always have to feel so awful. This is when I heard about SIBO – small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Eager to have answers I completed a breath test where the doctors commented they had never seen such high results and no wonder I was so uncomfortable. Finally I could start treatment.

 

This is where it got complicated.

I learned there are so many other factors unrelated to food that exacerbated my symptoms. To feel better I needed to address these factors – chronic stress, unbalanced blood sugar, poor sleep and more. Over the years I have guided my patients to find their triggers and have provided a personalized tool kit to be symptom free or at the very least at bay.
